Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use them to make the site work, to understand how it is used, and to measure our marketing. This policy explains which cookies we use and how you can control them.

Essential cookies

These are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off. Our website is built on Squarespace, which sets cookies for security (such as protecting forms from misuse), site functionality, and remembering your cookie preferences. They do not identify you personally.

Analytics cookies

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site: which pages are popular, how people find us, and where the site could work better. Google Analytics sets cookies (including “_ga” cookies) that assign your browser an anonymous identifier. We do not use this data to identify individuals. You can learn more, and opt out across all websites, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Marketing cookies

With your consent, we use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our Instagram and Facebook presence and to show our work to people likely to be interested in it. The Pixel sets cookies (including “_fbp”) that allow Meta to recognise your browser. You can manage how Meta uses this data in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.

Your choices

When you first visit our site, a banner asks whether you accept non-essential cookies. Nothing beyond the essentials is set until you agree. You can change your mind at any time by clearing cookies in your browser and revisiting the site, or by adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working properly.

More information

For how we use personal information more broadly, see our Privacy Policy. Questions about cookies can be sent to hello@bygailalexander.com.
